I believe Father John Sweeney is the most memorable character in this book due to the fact he is the main character. Father John is indeed the perfect definition of being fatherless because he has lost God's guidence, for he is our true Father, and trys extremely hard to seek his refuge. He trys and trys to fix everybody's problems but even he cannot fix everything, for he is one man, and one man cannot accomplish such an enormous task. But Father John is very hard on himself and believes he can accomplish this task. This is why he has earned my respect and I also believe Father John Sweeney is the most memorable character in "Fatherless".

To be honest, I have not really read this book but the most memorable moment that stands out best in my mind was when Father John Sweeney broke down and started to cry. He was very disappointed that he had not found God's guidence yet he still bent over backwards to help those who needed his help. Maybe he lost his faith for merly a moment, maybe he just needed to get a good cry out, but I believe he was just in a rough patch. This scene of the book really made me think, and that is the reason why I have remembered this moment. So I would have to say that this was indeed the scene that stood out in my mind.
