Flyers beat down on Blackhawks for Revenge

The Philadelphia Flyers made a strong statement with a strong effort. Jeff Carter had two goals and an assist, and rookie Sergei Bobrovsky made 30 saves in Phildadelphia's 4-1 win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday. Nikolay Zherdev and Scott Hartnell added goals, and Claude Giroux had four assists for the Flyers in the only regular-season rematch of last year's Cup finals. Chicago lost in regulation for the first time since Jan. 5 and had been on a 5-0-1 roll. Bobrovsky was especially sharp in the first period before the Flyers took control and remained sharp for the remainder of the game, he was on fire and lead the Flyers to victory.

Steelers vs Packers

It's a good thing the NFL is planning to squeeze more than 100,000 football fans into two-year-old Cowboys Stadium on Super Bowl Sunday in ARlington, Texas. Because now that the Packers and Steelers have earned their way to this year's big Romannumeraled affair, the league is going to need every last bit of stadium capacity it can muster. The stadium is about to get an overflow crowd, no matter what is charged per head. If there are two more fervent fan bases in the NFL, with loyalists who are willing to pick up and travel wherever their favorite team is playing, I couldn't imagine who would rank higher than the good folks of Pittsburg and Green Bay. By the time the hype ends, Super Bowl XLV might just wind up being one of the toughest tickets in NFL history.

Man Defends Right to Life and Natural Life

Senator Rick Santorum's speech in Houston and recent interviews with Terry Jeffrey are a breath of fresh air in an age of political sound bites. He is a man with a chest who defends the Right to Life and the Primacy of the Natural Law. He is a man of courage in an age of cowardice. The teaching of the Catholic Church is that there is such a Natural Law and that all just positive laws must comport with this Natural Law. This is the very foundation of Western civilization.

Mid-Terms

School is just about half way over, but one thing separates us from that point: The Mid Term Tests. If you are well prepared are reviewed your notes several times, you should be okay. However I, and like most of us, tend to cram at the last minute. Tests show that cramming for a test the next day will result in a bad grade. The best way to prepare for a test is to study a little each night. It is best to start doing this a week before the test. GOOD LUCK ON THE MID-TERMS!

Bonner Sports

I am very supportive of all the Bonner sports teams but it seems as if MB t.v. and the 7th period announcements are only intrested in a select few. I know that is just the way things are and that the country is really only crazy about football, basketball, baseball and maybe a little hockey but we shouldn't only talk about bonner football, bonner basketball, and bonner baseball. I say this because we have many athletes who participate in swimming, track, crew, tennis, lacross and other sports who I feel as if don't get enough attention. For example I heard nothing about the delco indoor track championships. I think before the bonner sport reports are made they should find out all the bonner game or meet results/up comming events.

Jets vs Steelers

I personally think that the jets will be taking this weeks game because rex ryan is on fire as a coach. Everyone thinks that the steelers will win just because, but i know for a fact the jets will win. With troy polomalu injured with his achilles, he wont have the mobility to fly around the field like he usually does. Without Polomalu the steelers are 6-7. With him they are 10-6, so his injury could be a great weekness in the defense. This could lead to a huge game for the jets offense, and eventually a great win to get into the superbowl. The steelers are terrible, go jets.

Music

Everybody likes their own kind of music. Some people like rap, some rock, or whatever. But why if people listen to their type of music that they think its so much better then everyone elses? So many times we have heard "oh rap sucks" or something like that. Why dont people just listen to their music and not have to say stuff about someone elses. Music is about self expression so why would someone have to say something about other peoples taste?

Abortions

As a Catholic, I do not approve of abortions. They kill innocent people. As soon as a sperm fertilizes an egg, it becomes a person. The cell is a living person with a soul. By aborting a fetus, you are breaking the commandment, "Thou shall not kill." Some people believe that abortions are okay before the baby gets too old, but every lifeform is sacred.

Music... Part 2

Different generations of people listen to different music. Older people might listen to bands like The Beatles and The Who or Buddy Guy, while 6-year-old girls might listen to Justin Bieber. I personally listen to rock and metal of the 70's and 80's and cant stand to listen to most new music. Why do different generations have such drastic changes in music taste? And why do some people, like me, listen to music from other generations?

Computers and People

The specific need for adaptive thecnology is unique to the individual. Trail and error may be required to find a set of tools and techniques. The person with molility impairment should play a key role in determining his/her goals and needs when selecting his/her technology. Once basic tools and strategies are selected, they can test drive, discard, adapt, and refine. The end user of the technology should determine what works best with them.

Snow day or not

I recently discovered that we only get two snow days a school year. Supposedly one of these snow days is usualy used for the day after Easter. We have already used one so if we use another we would either loose that day off or some other random day off. Would you rather have off now or later. I personaly don't care either way.

The Phillies

Spring training is just around the corner. During the off-season, the Phillies have been active to try to put together the best team in baseball. We now have some of the best pitchers in our rotation: Hamels, Halladay, Oswalt, and the returning Cliff Lee. We have made it to the playoffs the last several years, but only won one World Series with this lineup. Me and others await the opening day when the Phillies take on the Houston Astros.

2 Hour Delays

Two hour delays have there pros and cons. They are nice because the thing is that you get to sleep in an hour or two later. But what if you don't know till the next morning? You could be sitting up all night waiting to see what your school decides. What they decide could depend on how much Black Ops you get in the night before. If you bank on having off instead of the 2 Hour Delay, you could be up till two in the morning doing whatever it is you do, then you find out you only got a 2 hour delay and didn't get enough sleep. Everything really has it's pros and cons.

Final Week

This is the last week for teachers to cram in everything for the semester exams. Every teacher is trying to teach everything that is on the exam or trying to put on the exam by teaching it. They are also making us learn some of it ourselves which can take up a lot of time. This makes more work for us by making us do more schoolwork and studying. This week I have tests, along with projects, that I need to do before exams which is making this week hard to get through. Even though it seems like it is a tough time, I know it will end soon.

Snow day 1/18/11

I didn't fall asleep last night, I was hoping for a day off but instead i heard at about 11:30 that it was going to be a two hour delay. I woke up late today thought so i didn't go to school today, I hope i didn't miss math homework. I like staying home but then again i don't like missing the work, i think i missed an english quiz today on A Separate Peace so I'll probably have to make that up tomorrow along with all the other work that I missed. But my new hat came in the mail today so if I didn't stay hope I probably wouldn't have been able to get it today but that doesn't make missing homework better. Another negative thing is mr. Meyer is having a note book check in two days and i need to get the missing homework from today.

The Shirt Before The Shirt

The "shirt before the shirt" is a play on a term used by The Situation on Jersey Shore, for all of those who didn't know. But my real point is Lent, and how we should be preparing for it. Even though Lent is already a preparation for Jesus' ultimate sacrifice, shouldn't we always be in that constant state of Temperance? So the "shirt before the shirt" means we should be preparing for the preparation, which can seem redundant, but in actuality it makes sense. So ponder on that for awhile.

Which Religion is Right

Have you ever wondered if your religion was right about everything in the world? That your "God" was the true god? Many of believe that our religious beliefs are true and that all others are wrong. I may not know if my religion is right, but all of our religions do have one thing in common: a creator. Christianity believes in one God in three Persons. Judaism believes in one God, Yahweh. Islam believes in one God, Allah. Other faiths such as Hinduism believe in many gods, but they created the world. Our faiths may be completely different on many subjects, but we all believe in a divine creator who made our world.

Music

Music is a great way to express yourself and to create art. Many of us can play an instrument, sing, or both, but when it all comes together, it creates a wonderful way to bring energy to people. Music can overcome us and make us feel different emotions. Rock/metal can give people a kind of energy where they feel nothing and go out of control. Rap/hip-hop/pop make people want to dance and have a great time with other people. Music is a great type of art and can inspire people to create thier own type of art.

Why do teachers load on work before exams?

What is the point of teachers loading on homework and essays and assignments right before we have exams? i know they need to get their grades and tests done and all that but why not do that earlier in the year and give us time to get ready for our exams. Most of the stuff that they load on in the end isnt even part of our finals so they're just extra hassle and stress ontop of studying and all of that. I think teachers should give us a few days break to go over everything we need for the exams not what we need to do for the next quarter

Sports as opposed to different medicines

Alot of people will automatically turn to medicines for different diseases such as ADHD or depression. But what long lasting effects can these medicines hold on our bodies? Sports or working out is a good alternative to someone suffering from these diseases and is also healthy and good for you in the long run. I think that if more people would look to mroe natural help they would spend less money and also be more healthy.
my dad showed me something about the 9 year old girl in arizona who was shot and killed. It is told that there are baptist people who are trying to protest this little girls funeral because she was born on 9/11/01 and because she is catholic. they think its kind of an omen or something because when she was born. Now over 40,000 people have grouped up to keep these baptist protesters out of the funueral, even lady gaga a famous singer is one of many of these people who are trying to keep these protesters out. i found this story very disturbing and it is terrible that anyone would protest a little girls funeral.

Exams.

i'm not really ready for the exams coming up. It's kinda of hard to study all of the subjects when you have two exams everyday. You do get alittle more time since we do get out at 10 but it is still a lot of studying to do. Plus we have a lot of tests before the exams and assignments before the quarter ends. Atleast when the exams come you know the quarter is over and the new one will begin and summer is that much closer. So exams are okay i guess i like them for the fact we get out early from school but when you finish them early you have to sit and wait for the next one. Waiting for the next part to start is tiring because once you finish one part you just feel like going on to the next one.

Religion

Many times i have wondered what if I was born something other then a Roman Catholic? Many people claim that they're religion is "right" but what if you had been born into a different society and were a practicing member of a different religion? Seeing as how most of us have only been shown one religion how are we to know that this is necessarily the religion we ourselves want to follow? Although our religion is great I do not know if i could answer the question would i convert to Christianity if i was put into a religion different then my own

Snow

I have a love hate relationship with snow. On the one hand it is fun to throw at people and it gets me out of school. On the other hand its too cold and slippery. Being a very unbalanced person and the fact that snow leads to ice and ice is very slippery, this would lead to me not likeing either snow or ice. What are your thoughts on snow?

The Definition of God

Go is most often concieved as the supernatural creator and overseer of the universe. Theologians have ascribed a variety of attributes to the many different conceptions of God. The most common among these include omniscience (infinate knowledge). Omnipotence (unlimited power), Omnipresence (present everywhere), Omnibenvelence (perfect goodness), divine simplicity. Eternal and a necessary existance.

Snow Tomorrow.

I don't like the snow but if it does snow tomorrow I hope that we have off from school. Even though that means I'll have to shovel, at least we'll be able to sleep in and not have to take Mr. Meyer's test tomorrow. I hope it only snows enough that we have off, i don't want it to snow too much because then we can't go out and then we have to brush off all of the cars and shovel the drive way and walk ways. I won't be to happy if all we have is a two hour delay because then we still have to come into school. Other than that i won't mind if it snows because there's always the chance of having off.

Singing At Church

we are told in church to act reverently towards God when we sing and pray. When we sing "we are one body", we are not allowed to clap because they think it is irreverent. But God doesn't care how we praise him as long as we praise him. I think we should be able to clap during that song. If we are not allowed to, kids will keep falling asleep, not paying attention, and no caring about the mass. We should do this to make the mass more fun and entertaining....What do you think

Ted Williams

This story of 53 year old Ted Williams is inspirational as it shows how your life can change in the blink of an eye. In his case it drastically changed for the best, one day he was begging for change on an overpass in Ohio and the next he is getting offers from Kraft, ESPN, and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Even though he had a 14 page criminal record and is a recovering addict, God forgave and he is committed to changing himself.

3 Wishes

What would you wish for if you had three wishes? Most of us would wish for something for ourselves instead of others. But what if you had to make your wishes for someone else in the world? What would you wish for, world peace, end to poverty and hunger? It would be hard for ourselves to make wishes for others and some might find it to be a waste, but it would change our world a could make it a better place for all to live in.

Permit Pressure

Last week, I went to get my drivers permit. I passed the multiple choice test and received my permit. Now that I am driving, I feel more mature. I went out driving for the first time and realized it is a lot different than from what I thought. A driver must always be aware of their surroundings and potential dangers. Just like reality, we must make the right decisions to continue down the road of life.

Philadelphia Sports

This year the Philadelphia sports teams have great potential. The Eagles are one of the hottest teams in football, the Flyers are on top of their conference and the Phillies are the probable favorites to win the World Series. Beside the Sixers all of the teams are at least playoff contenders. Do you think that all three teams could win their championships?

What would you do?

When asked if we could recive a million $ 99% of us would say yes. Say if you did, what would you do with it. After all, the only reason we go to institutions of education is to learn skills that will land us jobs in the future to make money. What happens when the money is just throwin in your lap? Is there a point of for having a job after that. Im my opinon I would go crazy without doing something and always relaxing. Feedback?

Writing Songs

Writing songs is harder than you think. Alot of musicians don't even write thier own songs they use other peoples. The process is fun and it takes alot of deep thought. Especially when you want the song to make sense and fit together. Writing songs expresses your feelings at that moment and the great music you like bursts up inside you and you just sing along or rap to it.
Story of the Mustard Seed

KJV Matthew 13:31-32
(31) Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field:
(32) Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.

KJV Mark 4:30-32
(30) And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it?
(31) It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth:
(32) But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.

KJV Luke 13:18-19
(18) Then said he, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and whereunto shall I resemble it?
(19) It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it.

Pretty kewl huh?

We do not cease praying so long as we continue to do good. The prayer of the heart and of good deeds had more value than the prayer of the lips.

- St. Augustine of Hippo

St. Augustine has put it very clearly that your actions are greater than your words...thats most deffinately in the top 5 lessons we learn throughout childhood and it dates back to the 300s. pretty cool huh?

Snow.

I really hope that it doesn't snow this weekend. I didnt like the snow over the break because it ruined the week that we had off, and I had to shovel when ever it snowed. Then when I shoveled it would just snow again and i would have to go back out and shovel what i already had done. Then it cleared up because of the rain and then i heard that this weekend it is suppose to snow again on saturday. I don't want it to snow again, because it ruins everything. I hope that the weather gets nicer because i hate snow and the cold, and everything about winter.

Phillies Rotation

The Phillies now have one of the best rotations statistically in MLB history. Do you think that with this rotation that the Phillies will win the World Series?

The expectations for the Phillies this year is very high. Do you think that they will live up to the expectations or fall short of it. What do you think will hold the Phillies back this year?

Cave found in Vietnam

Now this is a true work of God! I mean the cave has been there for probably thousands of years and we discovered it in an amazing place and time. It's like a real "Journey to the Center of the Earth". The fact that the cave wasn't even found till now amazes me and it looks beautiful if you see the pictures --> http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/2011/01/largest-cave/peter-photography <-- You will be amazed! It says that there is a whole jungle under ground! how is that even possible, and a waterfall! God definetly had something to do with the preservation of this place.

God

Theology is oriented around God. it is more than just religion; it's religion about one God. It brings people together in times of need and is something that will last through the ages. We look to it when we need it, and turn away from it when it is inconvenient to our everyday lives. We should be doing more for it...Shouldn't we?

A Real Miracle?

The definition of a miracle is a sign of wonder that can be attributed to God only. They say that the 1980 USA hockey team victory over Russia was the miracle of ice. I believe this was a true miracle. The Russians were heavily favorited and winners of the recent games played. The way that team played with their hearts and determination that they could shock the world was truely a miracle. What do you guys think?

Gifts

Many people have different interpretations of gifts. Some people say that a gift is a material present that can be personaly handed to another person. Others say that a gift a a special skill or talent that a person might have. What do you think a gift could be? What kinds of gifts could people give to others?

Why do people go to Church.

Do you think that nowadays more people will go to Church out of a fear of Hell, or a love of God? In modern society it seems that more people have lost their loving touch with God and are not as intouch with themselves, their families, or God.

Is man merely a mistake of God's? Or God merely a mistake of man's?

I read this quote one day and thought. If this is true, If we are a mistake of God's why are we here? He probably would have killed us all if we were a mistake. Or maybe his mistake was good and humans are right for the universe. Or maybe God is a mistake of man's? If this is true, i mean for all we know jesus could have been a wacko that made something up, really we make stuff up all the time we could make 80 knew religions if we wanted and 300 years later people would believe in the gods we made. Also maybe not even the catholic God but any god for any religion.

Eagles-Kolb

Who saw that that Eagles game last night, even though it didn't count. Kold with three interceptions and the third at the end of the game where acers could have kicked a 50 yard field goal. Then they blew the game with alout a minute left, and Kold once again ate turf for like the 20th time that game. Even though it didn't count but we shouldn't have lost since Dallas is horrible this year and even though we played with the second line Kolb shouldn't have done as bad as he did. But next week we haveVick against the packers.

Chuck Norris in relation to God

There are many jokes that will portray Chuck Norris as having powerse that are greater than God's. Although these jokes may seem funny, we all know that they are not true and wrong. Why do you think that people would make jokes like this?
