Permit Pressure
Last week, I went to get my drivers permit. I passed the multiple choice test and received my permit. Now that I am driving, I feel more mature. I went out driving for the first time and realized it is a lot different than from what I thought. A driver must always be aware of their surroundings and potential dangers. Just like reality, we must make the right decisions to continue down the road of life.

One thing that most people remember is getting their license. Getting a permit (back in the old old days) in 1966 simply meant getting the physical form signed and doing the application. The driving test itself consisted of the closed course at a State Police barracks (I went to Belmont) and answering three questions.
A lot of people got nervous and failed so I did not tell any of my friends I was going. But I passed the first time and I was so happy.
But my dad, who taught me to drive, said I was not ready to drive alone yet. Oh well. In a short time, I did.
Good luck to everyone who will be getting their license this year. Stay safe!
Jeez. Now I'm getting nervous. I'm going to be getting my permit later this month and I have been studying for it. I hope that I can pass the test and start driving soon, but I am also worried that I might just suck horribly. If so, I'm going have to gain a lot of experience to get better. Wish me luck.
I feel the same way when I'm driving I feel a lot more mature than if I was just in the passenger seat. When you drive the cars around you are constantly moving. therefore, you need to always be watching to avoid any danger. That is a great analogy, because just as with driving you must continue to mature throughout your life just as with driving. Also if you were to get in an accident or make a bad decision you could lose your license or your car could be ruined. The same thing can happen in your life as you may make a wrong decision and you may end up losing your job or hurting other people.
I know that I can't get my permit for a couple more months now, but I hear alot of people talking about driving and about how much attention you have to pay to your surroundings. People talk about that besides paying attention to yourself you have to pay attention to cars in your lanes and the lanes next to you and even cars far off in the distance. I have a feeling that I will be a horrible driver, but I hope i can proove myself wrong. Even though driving is what most kids look forward when their younger, driving is a very dangerous thing. Good Luck Steve
