Father John Sweeney is the most memorable character to me. He is a priest who tries so hard to help the ones he loves but it all backfires on him. He tries to help the Kealeys out so much that the other couples in his Parish feel that he neglects them. I respect him greatly though because when he finds out that the younger couples leave his Parish he is crushed which shows he indeed does care. Father John Sweeney is a loving and caring person, that is why he is my favorite character.
The most memorable moment for me is when Father goes to the bar and just drinks away his sorrows. It stands out because it shows me that even though he's a priest and a man of God it doesn't mean he's perfect. When the bartender carries him to his sister's house and he wakes up with a hangover stands out to me because it makes priests seem more down to earth than i thought they were. Now I'm not condoning anyone to go drink away when they feel depressed, they should go get help, this just helps me know that priests are people to. That's why this scene stands out and is memorable to me.
